Under The Mark
Choreographer Dominique Yen’s dance piece “Under the Mark” is a combination of drama and installation. The atmosphere is built using baking soda and integrated with the theatric space. The choreographer designed the first part with the progressing of the event, the feelings induced, and whether it is a lie or the truth under the mask as the beginning of this dance piece. Understanding that all the dancers have different personalities, qualities, and different backgrounds, the choreographer asked them to be themselves. She never explains the development of the stories in her works. And “Under the Mark” is no exception. She allowed the dancers to feel deeply and experience the stories in “Under the Mark”.
